Yesterday, I found out I had Covid. So, because I’m apparently crazy and also because I can’t breathe when I’m lying down anyway, I decided to stay up late last night and write. The brain fog cleared for a while and I got in a couple good solid hours. Thanks to that, I’ve now officially “won” NaNo for the first time. 51,384 words!

Ashbranded

The novel I have been working on is called Ashbranded. The artwork you see at the top of this post is not my work; I commissioned it from the amazing ileon22 on DeviantArt, and it portrays the two main characters from Ashbranded.

Ashbranded is a dual-POV novel covering two brothers, one of whom wants to change the world but lacks the power, and the other who is exceptionally powerful but has no interest in changing the world.

It is set in a world dominated by poisonous volcanic ash that is destroying surrounding towns and villages and may even end up being the cause of a devastating war.

Plans for the rest of November

I’m going to be spending the rest of November working on the novel as well. I hope to finish the entire first draft this month, and then I will be systematically posting a chapter at a time to Scribophile.com to get feedback. However, that won’t affect my scheduled uploads for Loyalty Fallen Book 2, so you can continue to read that right here on the site.
